Friday 26th January
Registration is available all day from 12:00 until 18:00 at the Mullen Room in the CENTRAL HOTEL Exchequer Street to pick up registration packs. If you cannot make the registration, registration packs can be collected at the Meet and Greet later in the day.
Please feel free to socialise and warm up by the fire at the CENTRAL HOTEL’s famous Library Bar.
At 18:00 the “Leather Cocktails – Manhattans and Munchies” takes place at “The Blind Pig” just around the corner from the CENTRAL HOTEL. The team at this speakeasy have created two cocktails per guest especially for the occasion based on original whiskey and gin cocktail recipes from the 1920s. They’re fantastic platters of delicious Italian food will be available to all no doubt hungry guests. A bar is also available in the venue if our Premier Package holders wish to purchase any other drinks. Please see attached menu.
At 21:00 the “Meet and Greet” takes place in the Back Bar of STREET 66 on Parliament Street. STREET 66 is a well-known gay bar in Dublin and the team there are delighted to be hosting for Leather Pride Dublin. Come along and get to know the Irish leather and fetish men of GEARED and their admirers that night in an intimate private setting. Our outgoing Mr Leather Ireland 2017 will host the event. DJ Gerry Moore will be on the decks.
Saturday 27th January
Start the day at 11:00 with the GEARED Team for some cultural activities at Christchurch Cathedral and DUBLINIA – pray your sins from the night before away. Afterwards head to the Galway Bay Brewery in Cornmarket for pints and platters to keep you going for the afternoon.
Get your formal leathers on and be ready to undo the top buttons of your pants because at 17:30 we have our formal “Leather Dinner” at Wuff on Benburb Street, a quick 10-minute walk down the tram line from Capel Street. Wuff have created a fantastic three course meal for our Leather Pride Dublin weekend showcasing the finest of Irish cuisine, options available at each course, with half a bottle of wine per guest. Please see the attached indicative menu.
By 20:00 you can either have a rest or head to the BLUF social taking place at The George on South Great Georges Street, Ireland’s oldest gay bar.
21:00 sees the kick off of GEARED Ireland Main Event with Mr Leather Ireland at Fibber Magees Parnell Street. The Premier Package provides your admittance. On the night we will have bondage demos, a cigar smoking area, our resident DJs Steo Dub and El Styra will be on the decks. The bouncers will be kicking you out the door at 03:00, hopefully with an Irishman or two on your arm.
Sunday 28th January
In need of recovery? Meet for “Leather Brunch” at Oscars Christchurch where a large continental buffet will be laid on with accompanying hot breakfasts for all to boot. We want to make sure everyone leaves the country at least three kilos heavier! Please see the attached menu.
At 15:00 join us in the CENTRAL HOTEL for our Leather Archives and Museum Fireside Chat. Doug O’Keeffe from the LA+M in Chicago will be interviewing Ireland’s well-known LGBT activist and fetishist Karl Hayden about the history of fetish and leather in Ireland’s LGBT community. It will prove to be a fascinating discussion on how we’ve gotten here and where we will go in the future.
You can either have a rest or a wander around the city for Sunday afternoon, but feel free to mingle with your fellow fetishists in recovery in the Library Bar of the CENTRAL HOTEL.
At 19:30 join us for relaxed fetish “dinner and dungeon” at Viva, Portobello. Viva is one of Dublin’s premier Spanish restaurants and is hugely supportive of our LGBT and fetish community. Our fetish hosts will provide us with a fantastic dinner with wine or beer. Afterwards downstairs there will be a chill-out zone and pop up dungeon to relax and say goodbye properly on your last night with some easy sounds from DJ Steo Dub.
